Update 0.6.15: Seven-Attribute Player Stats & Position-Weighted OVR
The old four-stat system is gone. Every player is now graded across seven role-specific attributes — Goalkeeping, Passing, Tackling, Shooting, Pace, Stamina, and Positioning — and each position carries its own weighted overall formula so specialists are rated on the stats that actually matter for their role.
Play NowThe way Goalcrest grades footballers has taken its biggest leap since the move to the 1–99 scale. Version 0.6.15 replaces the old four-attribute system — goalkeeping, defense, midfield, and attack — with a full seven-stat model that mirrors how real footballers are scouted and rated. Every player in the game, from your starting eleven to the deepest AI squad, now carries seven distinct attributes, each with its own trainable potential ceiling, and each position calculates its overall rating from a different weighted formula.
The seven attributes are Goalkeeping, Passing, Tackling, Shooting, Pace, Stamina, and Positioning. Each one runs on the same 1–99 scale with a current rating and a potential ceiling, shown as "current / potential" on every player card exactly as before. The split means a 17-year-old with high talent has room to grow across all seven stats through training, while a veteran is close to his ceilings across the board.
The headline change is position-weighted OVR. Under the old system, a goalkeeper was judged almost entirely on his goalkeeping stat and an outfielder on a flat average of three attributes. That made specialists look wrong — a flying full-back with elite pace but average tackling read the same as a sluggish centre-half. Now every position has its own weighting formula. Goalkeepers are 60% goalkeeping, 30% positioning, and 10% stamina. Defenders are weighted 40% tackling, 40% positioning, and 20% pace. Midfielders are 40% passing, 40% stamina, and 20% positioning. Attackers are 40% shooting, 40% pace, and 20% passing. The result is that a player's overall finally reflects what he actually does on the pitch — a quick striker with a lethal finish grades higher than a slow one with the same shooting, and a tireless box-to-box midfielder earns credit for the stamina that makes him effective.
The new weights flow through to everything that reads an overall rating. Market values, scouting grades, youth academy assessments, and the AI rosters on every club detail page all use the position-weighted formula, so the whole pyramid now grades players on a consistent, role-aware basis. A wonderkid with elite pace and shooting finally carries the overall and the price tag his profile deserves.
Team strength has been rebuilt around the new stats too. Where the old match engine pulled defence from the tackling stat alone and midfield from passing alone, your starting eleven's defensive line is now calculated from the average of tackling and positioning, your midfield from passing and stamina, and your attack from shooting and pace. Formations and tactical presets still apply their modifiers on top, but the raw numbers feeding them are now drawn from the two stats that genuinely define each phase of play — so a back four of positioning-savvy tacklers is genuinely harder to break down, and a midfield of tireless passers controls possession more convincingly.
The 3D match engine has been updated as well. Player behaviour in replays now reads the new attributes directly — quick players burst into space using their pace stat, aggressive tacklers close down based on tackling, and stamina governs how long a player maintains his work rate through a move. The visual identity of each player on the pitch is now tied to the same seven numbers you see on his card.
Existing careers are fully supported through an automatic migration. The first time you load a save after this update, every player's old stats are mapped to their closest new equivalents — defense becomes tackling, midfield becomes passing, and attack becomes shooting. The three genuinely new stats — pace, stamina, and positioning — are then generated position-appropriately based on each player's primary attribute, age, and talent, and their potential ceilings are derived the same way. Old fields are cleaned up, market values and overall ratings are recalculated with the new formula, and the save is flagged so the migration never runs again. Nothing is lost, and no restart is needed.
Load any save and head to the Team page to see the new seven-stat breakdown on every player card. Open the transfer market or youth academy to scout prospects with the full attribute set, and play your next match to feel how the position-weighted strengths shape the result. The beautiful game just got a little more beautiful.
