Update 1.0.1: Matchday Upgrades — Form, Readiness, Progression & a Taller 3D Pitch

The matchday flow gets its first post-launch polish. The pre-match card now shows your recent form, league positions for both sides, and a readiness checklist flagging low fitness, expiring contracts, and injuries. Live commentary gains a visual hierarchy with highlighted goal cards. The post-match summary now carries a before-and-after progression card tracking league position, fans, reputation, balance, and team XP. The 3D replay engine also gets a taller dedicated height on desktop.

Update 0.9.0: Desktop-First UI — Every Page Rebuilt for the Wide Screen

GoalCrest is now a true desktop management title. Every core page — Team, Tactics, Transfers, Contracts, Training, Stadium, Sponsors, Scouting, and more — has been rebuilt around a multi-column layout that uses the full width of a PC monitor. Card lists render in two-column grids, tactical controls sit beside the pitch, the league table shares the screen with top scorers, and the accounting page pairs its breakdown with the chart side-by-side. The permanent left-side navigation rail ties it all together.

Update 0.8.5: 3× Match Speed for Faster Matchdays

The live match playback controls now include a 3× speed, so you can rattle through a comfortable win or skip straight to the moments that matter. The 0.5×, 1×, and 2× options remain, and the feed never restarts when you switch — it simply adjusts the pacing for the events still to come.

Update 0.8.4: Redesigned Post-Match Screen & Stamina Now Drains Fitness

The Match Summary page is rebuilt around a clear hierarchy — hero result card, key takeaways, a performance overview strip, and a tabbed deep analysis across Overview, Events, Players, and Finances. On the pitch, the stamina attribute finally matters: high-stamina players lose noticeably less fitness per match, while low-stamina players drain faster. The home dashboard also gets a sharper Quick Access system.

Update 0.8.3: Match XP & Player Development

A second development path arrives alongside training. Players now earn persistent Match XP from real match participation — scaled by minutes played, match rating, and opponent strength. When a player crosses their XP threshold, one or more attributes improve, with higher-rated players needing more XP to grow. Existing training is untouched; Match XP rewards playing time and performance, especially for developing younger squad members.

Update 0.8.2: Advanced Tactics & Player Roles

The Tactics page gains a granular tactical layer with real trade-offs — mentality, tempo, pressing, defensive line, width, directness, tackling and more — plus six named style presets from Tiki-Taka to Park the Bus. Each starter can also be assigned a position-specific role and up to six individual instructions, all feeding the match engine and shifting your team's attack, defence, midfield, fatigue and card profile.

Update 0.8.1: Pre-Match Opponent Analysis & Keyboard Shortcuts

Matchday now opens with a full scouting dossier on your next opponent — likely formation, league position and record, last-five form, a you-vs-them strength comparison across defence, midfield and attack, the dangermen you will face, and a set of scout's notes drawn from the real numbers. The desktop sidebar also gains single-key shortcuts (T for Team, S for Scouting, X for Transfers) so you can move between your core management screens without leaving the keyboard.

GoalCrest gets its official brand identity — the game logo is now the favicon, the app mark, and the hero badge on the landing page, backed by the cinematic key-art banner. The Stadium page also gains a maintenance system: your ground wears down each week, a worn stadium cuts your effective capacity, and you spend funds to keep it in top shape.
