Invest in youth early

Young players (under 21) develop up to 50% faster in training and gain the most market value. Sign talented youth prospects, train them hard, and either build a dynasty or sell them on for big profits. Scout Master skills amplify this strategy.

Balance the wage bill

Wages are your biggest weekly expense. A squad of 30 high-paid stars can drain your balance fast. Keep a core of quality starters and fill the bench with cheaper squad players. Sell high-value reserves you do not play to free up budget.

Renew expiring contracts on time

Players whose contracts hit zero at season end leave on a free transfer — you get nothing. Check the Contracts page regularly and renew your key players before expiry. Stars in good form will demand more, so renew them while morale is high.

Match tactics to your squad

If you have strong attackers but weak defenders, play Attacking or Counterattack. If your midfield is your strength, use Possession or 3-5-2. High Press is powerful but drains fitness fast — rotate your squad or invest in the Tireless trait.

Win rivalries for a fan boost

Derby matches give 1.5x fan and income changes. Winning a rivalry game can swing fan happiness dramatically, lifting attendance and matchday revenue. Losing them hurts just as much. Treat derbies as must-win fixtures.

Pick your first manager skills wisely

Master Coach and Scout Master compound over a long career — more development and better youth pay dividends for seasons. Negotiator saves money on every transfer. Choose based on your playstyle: builder, spender, or scout-and-sell.

Upgrade income before stars

Before splashing out on a star signing, make sure your stadium and sponsor income can cover the wages. VIP seats, food stands, and a good sponsorship portfolio turn matchdays into reliable cash flow that funds bigger transfers.

Diversify your scouting regions

Each region produces different position types. South America is gold for attackers; Europe is balanced. Spread investment across two or three regions rather than maxing one, so you always have options for every position group.
