Update 0.6.18: In-Game Tutorials & Player Face Avatars
Every main screen now greets first-time managers with a one-time tutorial popup explaining what that page does — dismiss it or skip all tutorials at once. Every player across the squad, tactics, transfers, scouting, and top-scorer screens also now carries a unique cartoon face avatar, generated deterministically so the same player always shows the same face.
Play NowVersion 0.6.18 makes the game friendlier to pick up and a little more human to look at. Two additions: a lightweight, dismissible tutorial layer across the core screens, and unique face avatars for every player in the game.
First, one-time page tutorials. The first time you open each of the main management screens — Home, Team, Tactics, Match, Training, Transfers, Youth Academy, Scouting, Stadium, Sponsors, League, Club, Contracts, Cup, and Manager — a short popup slides in from the top of the screen explaining what that page is for and how to use it. Each popup has two ways forward: "Got it" dismisses that one, and "Skip all tutorials" hides every future popup. Your choices are remembered, so a page only ever interrupts you once, and skipping is permanent across the whole app — no nagging. If you change your mind later, a single "Replay Tutorials" button in Settings resets every popup so they all appear again.
The tutorials sit on top of the page rather than blocking the middle of the screen, sliding down from the top edge so they read as a gentle pointer instead of a modal in your face. They are designed to orient a brand-new manager in the first session and then get out of the way for everyone else.
Second, player face avatars. Wherever you see a player — the Team squad list, the Tactics pitch, the transfer market buy and sell tabs, the Youth Academy, Scouting reports, the Contracts page, the Match Summary player ratings, and the Top Scorers leaderboards — each one now shows a small cartoon face instead of a plain number or initials. Faces are generated deterministically from each player's name and id, so the same player always carries the same face across every screen and every save. Skin tone, hair style and colour, eye colour, and facial hair all vary per player, with older players more likely to sport stubble or a beard. Your wonderkid striker looks like the same person whether you spot him on the Team page, in a scouting report, or atop the Golden Boot race.
The shirt number and overall rating badges you are used to are still there — they now sit as small overlays on the corner of the avatar, so no information is lost, just dressed up.
Load any save and both features are live immediately. The tutorials appear the first time you visit each page on this version, and the face avatars render everywhere players are listed. No restart needed.
