Update 1.0.1: Matchday Upgrades — Form, Readiness, Progression & a Taller 3D Pitch

The matchday flow gets its first post-launch polish. The pre-match card now shows your recent form, league positions for both sides, and a readiness checklist flagging low fitness, expiring contracts, and injuries. Live commentary gains a visual hierarchy with highlighted goal cards. The post-match summary now carries a before-and-after progression card tracking league position, fans, reputation, balance, and team XP. The 3D replay engine also gets a taller dedicated height on desktop.

Version 1.0.1 is the first polish pass since launch, focused entirely on the matchday moment — the screen you visit every single week. Six changes land together, each addressing feedback from managers who wanted more context before kick-off, a clearer read on the live action, and a better sense of what changed after the final whistle.

First, the pre-match card now shows your recent form. A strip of five colour-coded W-D-L badges sits beneath the formation and tactics summary, pulled from your last five results. A green wall means you are flying; a string of red means the dressing room is tense. It is the quickest possible read on momentum heading into the fixture.

Second, league positions appear under each team name on the pre-match card. Your position and your opponent's are shown as ordinals — 3rd, 14th, 1st — so the stakes of the fixture read at a glance. A top-of-the-table clash versus a mid-table visit feels different, and now the card reflects that.

Third, a Match Readiness panel sits between the formation summary and the Play Match button. It runs four checks: is your starting XI complete (11 players), is a goalkeeper assigned, are any starters below 70% fitness, are any contracts expiring, and are any players injured. Each check shows a green checkmark or an amber warning, so you walk into every fixture knowing whether your squad is ready — or whether you need to detour to Tactics or Medical first.

Fourth, the live commentary panel has been rebuilt with a visual hierarchy. Goals now render as highlighted cards with a primary-tinted background and border — they stand out the moment they land. Key events like missed chances, great saves, and red cards get a subtler accent-tinted card. Milestone moments — kick-off, half-time, full-time — are centred uppercase headers, so the structure of the match reads at a glance rather than as a wall of equally-weighted text. The commentary text itself has been bumped from 12px to 13px for easier reading on desktop.

Fifth, the stats bar beneath the pitch has been enlarged. The possession labels and the per-stat row labels both move from 9-10px up to 11px, so shots, corners, and cards are legible without squinting on a wide monitor. The numbers were always there; they just read cleaner now.

Sixth, the Match Summary page now carries a post-match progression card. Built on a pre-match snapshot captured the moment you press Play Match, it shows what changed across five metrics: league position (with up/down arrow), fans, reputation, bank balance, and team XP earned. Each row shows the before value, an arrow, the after value, and the delta — colour-coded green for positive movement and red for negative. On desktop it lives in the right-hand sidebar; on mobile it appears inline above the analysis tabs. It turns the post-match moment from a review of what happened into a read on what it cost you and what it gained you.

Finally, the 3D replay engine now has a taller dedicated height on wider screens — 300px on mobile, 380px on small desktop, and 480px on large desktop — up from a flat 240px minimum. The key-moment replays now have room to breathe, and the pitch reads more like a broadcast than a thumbnail.

Every change is presentational. No match engine logic, simulation formulas, or financial calculations were touched — the results, the scores, and the progression all work exactly as before. Load any save and every change is live immediately on your next matchday.
