New Update: Five Divisions, Fifty Clubs, Real Promotion Battles
The league pyramid has arrived. Goalcrest now spans five divisions of ten clubs each, with stronger opposition the higher you climb. Here is what changed and how to reach the Premier Division.
Play NowThe biggest structural change since launch is here: Goalcrest now runs a full five-tier league pyramid. Fifty clubs compete across five divisions of ten teams, and your job is to climb from the bottom to the top.
You still start your career in the Amateur League — Division 5 — with a modest squad and a small budget. The four divisions above it are League Two, League One, the Championship, and the Premier Division, each progressively stronger. AI club strength scales with the tier, so the teams you face get tougher with every promotion.
Player ratings have been rebalanced to match. Higher divisions are home to higher-rated squads, so a club in the Premier Division fields fundamentally better players than one in the Amateur League. Your own starting squad is a little stronger than before, but the gap to the top is real — you will need scouting, training, and smart transfers to close it.
Promotion and relegation are now meaningful. Finish in the top two of your division and you go up, swapping into a new league with fresh rivals and stronger opponents. Finish in the bottom two and you drop down a tier. Each promotion rebuilds your fixture list, your rivals, and your league table — so every season feels distinct.
The Matchday page is the best place to track your new world. Browse any week of the season to see all fixtures and scores across your division, watch the standings shift in real time, and plan your run-in. Climb the pyramid one promotion at a time — the Premier Division trophy is waiting at the top.
