Update 0.6.11: 3D Match Replays, Responsive Desktop Layout & Match View Toggle

Key match moments now replay in a real-time 3D stadium with rigged players, formations and tactics pulled from your actual lineup. The app also gains a responsive desktop and tablet layout with a sidebar of shortcuts, and you can now choose between 3D replays or pure commentary before every match.

Version 0.6.11 is the biggest visual leap Goalcrest has taken. The match screen gains a full 3D replay engine, the whole app becomes responsive across phone, tablet and desktop, and you get a choice in how you watch each game play out. Three changes that together make every matchday feel like a broadcast.

The headline is the 3D Match Engine. When a key moment arrives in the live feed — a goal, a big chance missed, a great save, or a red card — the match screen now cuts to a focused 3D replay inside a stylised stadium. Two rigged humanoid teams line up in your actual formation, with your real tactical style, your starting eleven wearing their real shirt numbers, and player stats and traits feeding how each man moves. Quick dribblers burst into space, aggressive tacklers close down harder, and low-stamina players lag behind the play. The replay builds a genuine attacking sequence — a wing overlap, a central combination, a counter or a set piece — before the strike, with the goalkeeper diving to meet a save and a slow-motion finish on the final shot. A "CHANCE FOR" banner introduces each moment on a black screen before the action begins, the pitch dims between situations so players stay visible, and the camera stays locked on the attacking end so you always see the move that matters.

The engine reads everything from your saved game state. Your formation, your tactical preset, and your named starting eleven all flow straight into the scene, so the eleven on the pitch are the eleven you picked. Opponent sides field their own formation and best eleven too, derived from the AI club's data, so a rival lined up 5-3-2 actually shapes up that way in the replay. Goalkeepers wear distinct high-contrast colours so they never blend into the squad, and the key player in each moment is highlighted so you can follow the move from build-up to finish.

Off the pitch, Goalcrest is now fully responsive. On a phone nothing changes — the familiar bottom navigation stays. But on a tablet or desktop browser the app widens into a sidebar layout: your five primary destinations sit down the left edge, and beneath them a grid of shortcuts to every secondary page — Tactics, Training, Scouting, Stadium, Youth Academy, Contracts, League, Schedule, Sponsors, Accounting and more — so nothing is more than a tap away on a larger screen. Device detection is automatic and updates as you resize, with a manual override in Settings if you want to force a layout. The match view, team page and every other screen reflow to use the extra space, so playing on a laptop or a wide tablet finally feels native rather than like a stretched phone app.

You also get a choice in how you watch each match. The pre-match card now carries a Match View toggle: 3D Replays or Commentary. Leave it on 3D and key moments pause the live feed for the full 3D replay before the commentary, score and goal audio land. Switch to Commentary and the 3D engine stays hidden, streaming every event straight through the live feed with goal celebrations and audio intact — the fast path for managers who want to rattle through a matchday. Either way the match plays out the same on the engine side; only the presentation changes.

A final quality-of-life touch: changing the match playback speed no longer restarts the feed. The 0.5×, 1×, 2× and 4× buttons used to tear down the whole simulation and begin again from kick-off; now they simply adjust the pacing for the events still to come, so you can speed up a comfortable lead or slow down a tense finish without losing your place.

Load any save and play your next match to see the 3D engine in action, open the app on a larger screen to feel the responsive layout, and try the Match View toggle on the pre-match card. Everything is automatic — existing careers pick it all up the moment you hit Play Match.
