Update 0.6.2: Progressive Market Values — Elite Talent Commands a Premium
Player valuations now scale sharply as a rating approaches 99, so a world-class star costs many times what a solid pro does. High-potential prospects carry a premium too — the more room a player has to grow, the more he is worth.
Play NowA player's price tag has always been tied to his overall rating, but until now the curve was too flat. A 90-overall star was worth only a little more than a 70-overall regular, and a wonderkid with room to grow was valued the same as a veteran who had already peaked. Version 0.6.2 rebuilds the market value formula around two ideas: value should accelerate as a player approaches 99, and unrealised potential is worth real money.
The new curve is cubic. A player's overall is normalised to a 0–1 scale and cubed, then scaled so a 99-overall player is worth up to €3m before any age or talent modifiers. The effect is that the gap between good and great is finally meaningful: a 60-overall pro sits around €660,000, an 80-overall star climbs past €1.5m, and a 90-overall world-class talent clears €2.2m. The last few rating points are worth more than the first fifty — exactly how a real transfer market behaves.
On top of the rating curve, a new potential premium rewards headroom. The engine now reads each player's potential ceiling and adds a premium proportional to how far that ceiling sits above his current rating. A 17-year-old with a 40 overall but a 70 ceiling is worth considerably more than a 29-year-old stuck at 40, because the teenager has years to close the gap. Younger players' headroom is weighted higher, since they are the ones with the time to actually reach it — so your academy prospects and high-talent signings finally carry the price tags their futures deserve.
Wages follow values, so a star's salary rises in step with his price — keeping an elite squad paid means an elite wage bill, and bargain youth becomes even more valuable as a way to build quality without the wage drain.
Existing careers pick the new pricing up automatically. The first time you load a save after this update, every player in your squad, your academy, and every AI club across all five divisions is revalued with the new formula, and the save is flagged so it never runs again.
